Interfaith Dialogue Experience:

Member, Newton Interfaith Clergy Association, 2007-Current.

  • Elected to Steering Committee.
  • Partnered with area churches on infterfaith diagolues.
  • Joined planning committee for the 40th Annual Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Commemoration.

Steering Committee, Northern Valley Clergy Association, 2001-2007.

 

·         Instrumental in organizing and reviving NVCA and served as first Secretary.

·         Contributed to and participated in Interfaith Thanksgiving Service.

·         Helped create service for National Day of Prayer.

·         Designed interfaith dialogue, “Getting to Know You,” with non-Jewish clergy.

 

Member, City of Englewood Community Relations Interfaith Clergy Council, 1996-2001.

 

·         Worked with Mayor and City Council to foster interfaith dialogue.

·         Fostered communication with neighborhood clergy and first responders.

·         Worked with Englewood Police Department on communal sensitivity training to reduce bias crimes.

 

Founding Chair, Kelvin Grove Clergy Association, 1995-1996.

 

·         Initiated gathering of area clergy and organized KGCA.

·         Served as founding chair of steering committee.

·         Planned interfaith dialogue programs.

·         Fostered communication with neighborhood clergy associations in surrounding areas.

 

Regional Board, Council of Christians and Jews (Alberta Region), 1992-1996.

 

·         Delivered lectures, seminars and conferences to area churches and civic groups.

·         Taught “Introduction to Judaism” course to students in the community of Tabor, Alberta.

·         Contributed articles and commentaries on Jewish life and interfaith issues to area media.

·         Served as resource and principal on cable TV series about Jewish life in Alberta.

 

National Board, Jewish Committee on Scouting (Canada), 1992-1996.

 

·         Represented Jewish interests in matters of Scouting to the National Board.

·         Worked with area troops to promote Religion-in-Life Award programs.

·         Taught church-based troops about Jewish life and traditions.

 

Member, Hollywood Park/Peterson Park Clergy Association, 1989-1992.

 

·         Planned interfaith dialogue programs.

·         Contributed to and participated in Interfaith Thanksgiving Service.

·         Served as Jewish resource to association as its only rabbi.

 

Member, Ethics Commission – Borough of Highland Park, 1987-1989.

 

·         Represented Jewish perspective of issues brought before the commission.

·         Assessed violations by members of the Borough government, its employees and departments and offered appropriate responses.
